Feedback from the top of the organization lets you know what the people who make big decisions about your work, your career, your income, your future etc. think about your performance and competencies. You should at least include the person you report to, but it may be helpful to go up one or two more levels if you can.

FROM THE CLIENT/CUSTOMER
INTERNAL: Internal clients and customers are those people within the same organization as you who depend on your unit for materials, resources, advice, information, expertise etc. They are the people for whom you exist. If they weren't there, you probably would not have a job. If they are unhappy with your service or product, maybe you won't. Find out what they think and make sure you correct any shortcomings.
EXTERNAL: For some of us, all of our clients or customers are outside of the organization and we serve them directly. These people are why your organization exists. Without them your organization would not be needed. If they are unhappy with your product or service, sooner or later they will find an alternative. It is essential that you know what they think and that you work on areas that are less than perfect.
FROM BELOW
Feedback from the people who you lead and manage is important. It is not always easy for these people to be open and honest in their feedback but if you have a large enough group who send the same message, you should listen to it. It would not be unusual to get different feedback from each person who looks to you for leadership since it is theoretically desirable to manage each person differently.
FROM SUPPLIERS
INTERNAL: Internal suppliers are those people who supply you and your unit with materials, resources, advice, information, expertise etc. They usually work in departments like accounting, human resources, purchasing, IT, marketing and so on. Without their support, it is usually difficult and sometimes impossible to succeed. These relationships are usually tested most dramatically in emergencies. A wise manager will build the kind of relationships that make suppliers want to help them to succeed.
EXTERNAL: External suppliers are those people who supply many of the same things listed above but who work outside of your organization. They could be suppliers of products or services that are essential for your operation. These people also can make or break you in a crisis. While sometimes there are alternative sources, long-term relationships with trusted suppliers often a part of a strategic business model.
